Advanced Permaculture Class 2014

Hi, I'm helping the good folks at to spread the word about advanced permaculture class they're doing in Florida in January. I believe this information will be of interest to the members here but if this is not so, please let me know and I will delete it or the moderators can delete it.

Jono Neiger, who has over 20 years of experience as permaculture designer and teacher, will be doing 7-day in depth Advanced Permaculture Whole Farm Design Course (structured as 2 parts; you may take one or both of them). During the course, students will design a master plan for Big Small Farm – 400 acres non-profit farm incubator. While it will be used to design a large rural property, the design process would be virtually the same for designing an urban lot, so don't let the word “farm” scare you away!

All the details are here -

And we even have a cool poster too -

We hope to see some of you there! :)

I though this was a local Vancouver group. What is a Florida event doing here?

Yes and we still have 2 slots, although the format has been changed to be more hands-on design workshop and less of a traditional class. Please check if you're interested.

Permaculture design should be of interest to all citizens of the world, so feel no shame, promote away! It's too far for me to travel though. I will be flying from Vancouver to The Netherlands on the 10th. I am due for a family visit. If I could sail or get there without burning fossil fuels I would. We are a society in transition and one step at a time, I think within soon I could!

Depends on the backyard and the resources available to you (like, can you build a greenhouse?) but I've heard Bill Mollison say that as a very rough rule of thumb one person can grow all the food he needs on 1 acre. He also said that amount of food you can grow is limited only by quality of your design :)
