Las Virgenes View Trail, a Gentler Hike

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/b/4/0/event_22535648.jpegThe Las Virgenes View Trail climbs from the corner of Las Virgenes Canyon Rd and Mulholland for 2.3 miles to an overlook at the top. There are 800' of climbing overall (out and back) on a 100% singletrack trail that is generally pretty smooth and firm. It will be very colorful this time of year with all the growth from the rain, but we need to go soon before the mustard chokes out the trail. Blooming mustard can be very pretty on the hillsides, but it's an invasive species and it creates havoc on our trails!
From the top, we'll retrace our steps for an overall hike of 4.6 miles and 800' of climbing.
Directions: From the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills/Calabasas, exit at Las Virgenes Canyon Road and turn south. Drive 3.3 miles to Mulholland Hwy. Park on the north-east corner at the trailhead.
