Join us for a new adventure as we explore the untamed wilderness known as Rancho Conejo Open Space. We will hike in Hill Canyon which is a beautiful system of deeply eroded canyons, plateaus and ridge lines in the northwest portion of the Conejo Valley. From there we'll start gaining elevation via the Western Plateau trail. We will overlook the 101 freeway before heading off through switchbacks, single tracks and fire roads following the power lines to crest the peak with the KCLU transmitter. We will have views of the inland peaks of the Topa Topas, Ventura coastline and views of the Channel Islands. If it's a clear day we may even see snow covered peaks of eastern mountain ranges. We will descend to join the Western Plateau trail, passing through the wooded Hawk Canyon (where we watch out for poison oak) before tackling the upward journey back to our cars.
