This hike will be a moderately strenuous 6 +/- out and back trek with 1500ft +/-. of elevation gain from Lang Ranch parkway up the Albertson motorway. Our route is principally on the Albertson Fire Road, which goes from the trailhead eastward all the way to Upper Las Virgenes Canyon and is a favorite route for hikers and mountain bikers alike.

Our hike begins with a moderate but steady uphill eastward trek and varies in steepness somewhat as we proceed. After completing our ascent, we return and descend westerly on the Albertson Fire Road until we again reach the Lang Ranch trailhead. We will stop at a little rock formation rest point to grab a snack in the dark, before heading back to the cars.
