Don't tell Ken that we are stealing his Humpday Boney Appetit hike.

This out and back hike wanders through grasslands and chaparral from the Wendy trailhead, then climbs up Boney Mountain Trail for some fantastic views north to Port Hueneme and Oxnard and west toward the Pacific Ocean. We will take a short break at the Boney Mountain overlook. Though not the peak of Boney Mountain, the overlook still affords fantastic views north to Port Hueneme and Oxnard and west toward the Pacific Ocean. If it’s a clear day, we’ll easily be able to see Santa Cruz Island, as well as the Los Padres Mountain range. After taking time for the appropriate gasps, we will take the same trail back to the cars.

This hike is about 6 miles and 1400 of elevation gain, and the views are worth the effort. Bring plenty of water and a snack.
