Our meetings are informal and friendship oriented. We talk about the serious issues with a good amount of levity and laughter thrown in. There is no main theme and are no main speakers - just a bunch of new friends getting together to share experiences and support each other. We are planning this next Divorce Group Meetup at my home. Who knows, maybe some folks will come simply because it is in a private residence, not in public place... Others might like the aspect of bringing your own drink or snacks and not want to spend restaurant prices for beer/wine. New Greeting for“Hi, Debbi. I felt compelled to respond to your intro bacsed on my experince. I think the answer is"it depends." I wanted to remain frineds with my ex. But, I have found it impossible due to the unavoidable conflict that seems to arise (especially in front of the kids which I cannot accept). This occurs even if I don't say a word. It has come to the point that I minimize any contact with her to the extent poissible. I don't think it is possible to be "friends" in any case. "Civil" at best.”posted by Gary
