Grey Goose Ghost (The Third Installment of Let's Meet Up and Share Our Writing!)

**UPDATE (last one, probably)**  I've bolded the changes we've made.  Please note that you have until 3/30 to submit, not 3/27.  My mistake!

Hello fellow pens! The second meetup went really well, so predictably we've decided to do a third!

Date: 4/6/13

Time: 1:00 PM

Place: Maya Angelou NE Branch Library: 3051 E 21st N, Wichita KS

Duration: ~2:00 hours. I will keep time at the next meeting since we ran over a bit last time; we don't want to exclude anyone who has other plans!

The writing prompt for next month is: grey goose ghost (send all glares and grumbles to yours truly for that one). Just like before, you may interpret it in absolutely anyway you want, and you may write a short story, novel chapter (L that's you!), poem, or even a creative non-fiction story. Whatever you wish.

Please upload your writing to the "Files" section by 3/30 so everyone has a chance to look through your work. There's no folder system in place, so just save your file.

During the meeting we will make introductions with any newcomers then move on to constructively critique the writing generated from the prompt. We've all proven to be nice, yet helpful, so please participate in writing and critiquing even if you didn't make it to the meeting today.

I look forward to seeing everyone again. I hope to see everyone come back and then some!

Thanks,

-Ashley

Had a wonderful time meeting Ashley, Doug, Ken and Tom last Saturday, as well as reading Ashley and Ken's stories. The feed back on the poem I submitted was very much appreciated. I'm looking forward to our next meeting and hope to see more new faces.

I enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new fellow writers. I loved the discussion we had about writing and appreciated the critique. The honesty and openness was welcomed and in the environment it felt very safe.

I checked on the Angelou library for next month, and unfortunately it is reserved every Saturday in April and May. There is availability at the Rockwell Library, which is a little more difficult to get to, but is close to 13th and Oliver on the East side. Let me know if that is an option for May or if there are other ideas.

That's fine with me as long as it's handicap accessible. What do you mean by more difficult to get to?

I had a great time at our meetup today. It was good to meet some new people, Robert and Tom. I got some great feedback on my story, James or Avery.

It was good to see some Doug and Ken again, and I hope the rest will make it to next month's meeting! (5/4, 1:00 Maya Angelou Library --I'll make an official meetup as soon as I get the prompt photo)

Also, we talked about it a bit at the end of the session, if anyone wants any piece (not just ones written for the prompt) critiqued either at a meeting or online in the forums, feel free to upload your work. I'd be happy to give some feedback.

I'll have an update soon for the next meetup.

    Thanks,

    -Ashley

Sorry for the very late notice. I will not be able to attend. My father has been ill for the past few weeks and I take every chance I can to see him. Looking forward to the next meetup though.

Ugh, that's rough. At least it's not going to be 100 degrees out (yet). I hope to see you next month.

Sorry for the glaring misspelling in my Grey Goose Ghost poem, (the one that I caught.) Bare should Bear. :)

D: Are you going to write a piece anyway? We can critique it online.

**UPDATE #2** I haven't heard back from Kris yet, but as far as I can tell, I can't make folders under the "Files" tab, so just upload it there. I'll take down my old stories when I upload my next one. For now, let's all do the same.

If you're writing a piece, you may upload it under the "Files" tab on this site. Then you can start a thread about it. I'd be happy to read it and give you some feedback under the "Discussions" tab.

This will be a good sized room, so it would be nice to have a big group!

**UPDATE** The meeting is officially at the Angelou library. Please click if you're going to attend otherwise this won't show up as a legitimate meetup scheduled.

Thank you Ken for reserving the room for us.

Oh, and I'm not sure if I made my prompt idea very clear. The phrase "grey goose ghost" does not need to appear in the piece. You can choose how to relate the words in any way you wish (I think vodka was mentioned at the meeting). The only stipulation is that all three ideas must be incorporated somehow.

See you all in a few weeks!

    Thanks,

    -Ashley
