Want to meditate but can't sit still?
For most of us, the image of meditation is sitting still, doing nothing, and stopping the mind from thinking. This seems almost impossible!
And yet we yearn to find relaxation, awareness, and self-acceptance - which is what the state of meditation is!
That is why you will find both "active" and "passive" meditations being offered at the World of Meditation meetup group. With active meditations, instead of sitting still, you will experience a variety of activities that first help release mind/ body stresses, tensions, anxieties and inner chatter. This creates a space for you to experience the silence and clarity within. Active Meditations are easy, enjoyable and they REALLY work!
And for those of you who CAN sit still, You will find passive meditations on our schedule, such as the Darkness Meditation, Chakra Sounds, Vipassana, Zazen, Nadabrahma and other.
The meditations you will find here are both ancient and modern, and come from all corners of the globe. So, welcome to the World of Meditation!
No previous meditation experience is necessary! Our meditations are for EVERYONE - from beginners to experienced meditators. All ages, backgrounds, sizes and shapes are welcome.
You can come and meditate every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as at 7:30am and 7:30pm on Fridays. Check out our meetup calendar for all the details.
