ZH3 Hash #831: Anarchy in Kreis 5

As this will be my 20th hare for Zürich - and this is not a regular Zürich hash day I decided I could muck about with the start time too - so note start time is 12 noon and not the usual 2pm.

We will have a punk rock theme for the run - so get your safety pins, Doc Martens and spiky haircuts out.

The run will be from A to B - I expect Pretty Vacant stares at the checks, the trail may be Going Underground, but it definitely won't be Flogging A Dead Horse. As B is some way from A, you will need to bring your GA / ZVV pass - or money for the tram / bus.

True trail will be just over 10km - there is a 5km walker's option which will also be buggy friendly. The runner's trail is most definitely NOT buggy or kiddy bike friendly.

The venue (or point A) will be as follows:

Meet at the Mousetrap Bar (i.e. the British Cheese Stall) close to the main entrance of the market - a bag drop will be arranged.

Public Transport: Tram stop Dammweg is just across the road from the main entrance. Trams 4, 13 and 17.

For after the run, I have arranged for some tables to be set up for us in the market hall. The Mousetrap Bar (Mike's cheese stall) has two really excellent British ales on tap - Brewdog Punk IPA and Shepherd Neame Spitfire as well as many bottled British ales plus American microbrews and Belgian beers. There are other stalls around the market selling pies, Italian deli food, fish tapas, sushi, wine - you name it. You lot can just go and forage and scoff at the tables. If the weather holds we will put the tables on the terrace outside.

RSVP would be appreciated so we know how many tables we need.

If you have not hashed before, a Saturday true trail is typically 8-10km, and there are all speeds in the group, including walkers who normally do a shorter route. If you are a slow runner, you will do something close to true trail distance, as there are places where the trail disappears, and the front runners have to find it - while they are looking, the rest of us have a chance to catch up. If you are a quick runner you will go further, probably around 10k.The hare (person who lays the trail) is really aiming for everyone to get to the end at about the same time in order to take part in the more social side of the run.
