Wines You Can’t Afford . . . To Miss – Pinot Noir

This event is not going to get you those wines for free, but it will give you an opportunity to try a lot more of those wines that you may consider to be outside your normal budget.

This tasting is for Pinot Noir only.

Price of admittance for this tasting is a dish to share and a bottle of Pinot Noir with a retail value of OVER $50.00.

To help ensure that each person receives a sufficient taste of each wine, we have had to limit participation in this event.

We will nose and taste the wines, profiling the experience of each wine and taking notes.

Let’s REALLY look for something special to bring to this tasting. It can be a bottle that you’ve cellared for a while and you wish to share with other oenophiles, or one that you’ve always wanted to buy, but just can’t make yourself do it unless it’s a “special occasion.”

So bring that special bottle of Pinot Noir and a dish to share and be prepared to enjoy a memorable tasting experience!

NOTE: If you are bringing a guest, please bring two bottles of wine and two dishes to share.

Correction (thanks to Frank): The winning bottle that Kathy presented was the Barnaut Champagne Grand Cru Banc de Noir which she purchased from Chris Soluri, Wine Advisor & Proprietor, Fine Wine Connection, 2690 Cobb Pkwy SE #1 in Smyrna,[masked]

Delicious Champagnes and still wines! …and the food was incredible...thanks to all for your efforts in making it a wonderful event. Thanks, Roger, for hosting this event. Kathy Harkey's Mailly Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Champagne was rated the top wine for the evening!

I too have a scheduling conflict with work. Someone on wait list will be very happy to be there. Enjoy. I look forward to the next tasting.

I'm sorry to say I have a conflict and will not be able to attend. On the plus side, that will leave an opening for some lucky soul.

There were incredibly delicious Pinot Noirs at the first Pinot tasting I attended at Roger’s. I loved more than half the wines that night. The first and third rated wines were presented by Quin and Jean Gregor – 2007 and 2005 vintages respectively from the same winery – Del Dotto. The second place was a 2005 Patz & Hall presented by Joanne Provencher. I have never tasted so many wonderful Pinot Noirs at one time.

For anyone who would like to help setup between 6 & 7, I plan to bring one of my favorite CA Pinot Noirs to consume during that time. For all guests, we will have a French Cremant D'Alsac Pinot Noir-based sparkling wine and a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir Blanc Rosé wine to open your palate as you arrive. We will have door prizes for those who bring the three (3) top-rated wines.

Pinot Noir! My favorite....I have a California wine that is comparable to the best of Burgundy.
How did I miss this posting??

You probably were drinking the CA wine instead of checking the postings :-)
