Give a small bio of your outdoor experiences

I am an avid hiker and backpacker, participating in day trips of up to 20 miles and several multi-day backpacks per year. I am a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School and am a hike leader for the Mountaineers organization, a Puget Sound-based outdoor educational group. I lead several hikes per year for the Mountaineers, including founding and running a hiking course called the Conditioning Hiking Series which leads participants on a series of progressively longer hikes throughout the summer season. The course involves extensive work including coordinating hikes led by almost 30 volunteer hike leaders for around 80 participants per year.

What is the maximum altitude you can handle?

I have successfully completed hikes in high altitude areas including Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, the Wind River Wilderness, and the Wallowas.

Are you familiar with the 10 essentials and how they change with different events?

Very familiar, including teaching beginning hiking courses for The Mountaineers that includes a discussion and demonstration of the Ten Essentials.

What outdoor events do you prefer?

Hiking, Backpacking, Trail Running.

Is your activity pace slow, medium or fast?

Prefer medium-paced hikes, but can hike faster or slower as conditions warrant.
