I began by taking tons of photos with my cell phone, always looking to catch the right moments/angles/etc. (and consistently being disappointed). Now I have a "real" camera and want to be sure I use it to its limits!
I love nature photography (I'm a hiker), but since my niece was born in April, I have fallen in love with portraits and candids of family as well.
DSLR - Nikon d5100. I have the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G portrait lens and the Nikkor 18-55mm f/[masked]G VR lens.
I would like to learn more about photography in general, as well as get tips from old pros for using my camera/capturing certain types of photos/etc.
Yes, I am very reliable. I don't know how many I'll be able to come to (being a student and working full time), but I'm quite interested and will be there if/when I can.
I'm a newbie to photography (about a year in), and new to Charlottesville (moved here in August 2013 to start grad school at UVa's Graduate Dept of Religion). I love catching moments/beauty with my camera. I want/need to learn how to do it better!
