I have changed the Venue for this week as Smock cafe is closing on Thursday. Instead let's go explore dinosaur bones and bat caves at the Royal Ontario Museum(ROM). For those who like an early start join us at Red fish Blue fish creative cafe 9.30 ish then walk together to the ROM.
The cafe is five mins walk from Spadina subway.(73 Harbord Street, Toronto, ON M5S)
The ROM is across the road from St George subway. It opens at 10 am so we can meet at the door, but feel free to come later and we can meet inside.
About Planting thoughtful seeds group.
Do you love to go to farmers markets, love cooking and baking and creating healthy meals from fresh local ingredients? Are you or do you aspire to be an ethical consumer, sourcing foods which ensure animal welfare standards, fair trade products , locally grown produce and cosmetics which are not tested on animals?
Is it important to you that your children know where the food they eat comes from, respect their environment and enjoy, being close to the land, gardening and growing? Do you love being creative with your kiddies and are always looking for new ideas and inspiration?
If the answer is yes to any of the above, Come and join this community and we will do it together. Lets share ideas, recipes, inspiration and knowledge.
Ideas for Winter activities:
In 6 weeks we will be moving to Bloor west village I'll then be able to host activities at home like making indoor ant and worm farms, nature inspired arts and crafts, simple cooking with kids, children's book club etc.
During the cold months we can also head to the ROM, science centre, Toronto zoo, High Park nature centre, indoor farmers markets etc.
Ideas for Spring /Summer months:
Lets enjoy gardening, visiting farms, farmers markets, picnics in parks etc.
Let's motivate and empower each other to make informed decisions and feel good about the way we eat, shop and live, making an important impact within our communities, and being positive role models for our children.
Together let's embrace mothering the healthy natural way, lets explore this great city, examine our values and make a difference.
I would love to be your host for this new meet up. I'm a busy stay at home mum to 2 little people (baby number 3 due beginning of April) who strives to be an ethical consumer. I'm vegan, love to cook and bake, grow vegetables, visit farmers markets and get crafty. I would love to explore the city and connect with a group of women/ mums and families who share similar ideas and values. I am no expert, but feel very passionate about wanting to make the world a better place, one meal, purchase and decision at a time.
Of course little people are an integral part of the group so all the places we visit and the activities we enjoy will be aimed at families. There are no age limits for kiddies, babies, toddlers, or older kids all welcome.
I will arrange activities every Thursday but please feel welcome to participate as often as your able, I will post the activities weekly.
Would love to hear what you think, as this is a new group/idea any help, thoughts ideas for activities, events etc would be gratefully received.
Let's start by meeting at Smock cafe (1st get together) which is a great kiddie friendly environment, the kids can enjoy the toys and great art space while we get to know each other and make plans for our weekly meet ups.
Hope your able to join us!
Sam
