THE AGENDA:
7:30am - MAKING THE TRANSITION FROM EMPLOYEE TO ENTREPRENEUR with KELLY HOEY
How can you prepare for career opportunity? Learn how a nice girl from Victoria, British Columbia, landed in New York City as an angel investor, board member, trusted advisor to hot tech startups (after a corporate detour through Toronto as a bankruptcy attorney) by developing her networks, cultivating diverse professional relationships, building a Yes Me Fund and finally, taking that courageous jump in her career.
Coffee and pastries will be provided.
11:30am - THE TRUTH BEHIND 'IT'S ALL ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW' with MARILYN NAGEL
Networking is one of the cardinal rules in entrepreneurship. It's a practiced and perfected skill that can turn a business card into a potential employee, customer, or investor. During this lunch session, Marilyn Nagel will share her insights on why it's all about who you know and who knows you. Having spent her career overseeing diversity and inclusion opportunities at a Fortune 100 company, and most recently leading the largest community of executive women who have risen to the top of their fields, Marilyn is passionate about accelerating women's network and their careers.
