Fellow Trader,

We have finalised the agenda for the next Traders Forum event this coming Saturday.

Whether you are an intraday trader or an investor who takes the long view with your Personal Pension, you must not miss this rare opportunity to spend a full day in the company of people who devote their time studying the markets and are ready to share their experience and insights with you.

This special full-day event will be held at The Hatton, a stylish Art Deco building located in the heart of London's Diamond District. The Traders Forum will kick off at 8.30 with breakfast followed by a full day of presentations, rubbing shoulders with market professionals and, most importantly, plenty of time to network with your fellow traders and investors in our exclusive lounge area.

At the end of an informative and stimulating day, The Hatton will be laying on an informal reception for us during which we shall enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine or a beer or two.

Admission is by ticket only and there will only be forty places available. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you reserve your place NOW by visiting the following page:

The agenda will be as follows:

8.30            Welcome And Breakfast

A friendly welcome from Teresa, Paul and Kevin accompanied by a continental breakfast and time to catch up with your old friends and meet your new friends.

After breakfast, we begin the day proper.

9.15            Kevin Barry - The Big Picture And Market Roundup

Kevin Barry
is a full-time day trader but adopts the long view when managing his Personal Pension. He is primarily a technical trader but is fully aware of how events in the real world events can conspire to spoil a great technical setup. Therefore, he knows that it is essential to be aware of what is going on in the wider world as the context for his investment decisions.

Kevin will be setting the tone of the day by presenting his Market Roundup in which he will be sharing his longer-term outlook and the positions that he will be holding in his SIPP over the new few months.

This Market Roundup will be a little different this time inasmuch as Kevin will be describing his market positions in the context of The Big Picture.

Amongst the topics that he will be addressing:

  • How we got here and what is likely to happen next
  • Why the US Dollar is the only game in town and will continue to be for many years ahead
  • Inflation v. Deflation and the three technical signals that will enable you to know that the tide is turning long before it hits the news
  • Which major economy is on the brink of a major downturn and how to trade it profitably
  • Kevin's two largest short positions, copper and gold, have fallen 5% and 20% respectively since the last Traders Forum. What's next for the metals?
  • Why ETFs are the perfect way for the retail investor to play the commodities market. And why they're not.

11.15   Coffee & Networking

11.30   Martin Walker - The High-Probability Toolbox

Martin Walker
is passionate about Forex trading, sailing and teaching people to become consistently profitable Forex traders.  He is ex-Royal Navy and is a Chartered Engineer and Management Consultant.  He has been trained by several high-profile Forex traders and has been a full-time Forex trader since 2008. This knowledge has now been melded into his own successful trading style which he now teaches and trades.

Martin is primarily a technical trader who will be sharing with us the toolbox of trading strategies that he uses to identify high-probability trades in multiple timeframes. He is a recognised expert on market geometry placing particular emphasised on harmonic patterns.

Today, Martin will be focusing on the 1-2-3 pattern, which is a chart pattern indicating the reversal of an existing trend.  It occurs very frequently at the end of strong trends and presages a high probability of trend reversal. When you know what you're looking for, these patterns are simple to spot and occur in all time frames.

If this style of trading is new to you, Martin's session is guaranteed to be a real eye-opener.

Martin has also run an online trading room and is an experienced trading instructor.

12.30 Thierry Laduguie - How Sentiment Affects The FTSE

Thierry Laduguie
is a proprietary trader, investment adviser, investment manager, analyst and writer who has been delivering products and services to retail and corporate investors since 2000.

It is not clear why sentiment changes but one early clue can be found in the behaviour of investors. Sentiment will often change when prices no longer respond to the news. For example when the market fails to rally on good news or when it fails to decline on bad news. Thierry has developed a bespoke indicator, called the BTI, that measures sentiment change in advance of the market turns.

Thierry is particularly interested in the effects of sentiment in the market and will be discussing his research in consistently forecasting the direction of the FTSE100 with the use of his bespoke indicators.

1.30    Lunch Break

We shall be serving you a delicious lunch in our exclusive lounge where you can relax with us and explore any topic of interest with the speakers if you wish.

  • Several strategies for trading FX with the use currency options

3.30    Peter

Shakeshaft - Fine Wine As An Investment

In recent years, fine wine investment has matured as a mainstream asset class. It has a 300-year history, has delivered double-digit returns over the last 25 years, is less volatile than other asset classes such as equities and gold, has a low correlation with other financial markets and provides tax-free returns under certain circumstances. And, if the worst comes to the worst, you can always drink it.

We are often asked about alternative investment strategies so we are very pleased that Peter Shakeshaft, founder and CEO of Vin-X, one of the leading fine wine investment specialists, will be introducing us to fine wine as an asset class and explain its potential for portfolio diversification.

Peter hails from a City background and is one of the UK's leading commentators on the fine wine market, appearing regularly on the BBC, CNBC and Bloomberg.
