(The N-Word vs. The R-Word)
The N-Word is a sensitive topic that obviously has a very long history tied all the way back to the beginnings of America's Black community. But another word has recently been compared to the N-Word because of race & historical association.
The "R-Word"
R as in Redskins. The Washington DC professional football sports team's name has come under much scrutiny the past couple of months and been the topic of many sports talk & news post. More and more people are asking that the name be changed and that the change is way past due. Many are saying that there is a strong similarity to its painful original association as the N-Word and it has been compared to the N-Word quite often in the debates that now are not just a local DC topic. But there are many who also say that the two are not the same and shouldn't be put in the same category because of the origins and sufferings associated with the N-word.
