The Rant - Brighton Ceilidh Collective Pages

If you love to kick your heels up, abandon your weekly cares and worries, meet new people and enjoy a few ales, then ceilidh'ing is most definitely where it's at.

Myself along with the newly formed Brighton Ceilidh Collective are happy to announce that we've put the final piece of the puzzle together and found the perfect venue for a new monthly ceilidh event in central Brighton, starting on Friday 2nd May!

The event will be called 'Rant' and will take place on the first Friday of each month, 8pm - 11pm (doors open 7.45pm), in the refurbished One Church Building, Gloucester Place, by the North Laine and opposite Grand Parade.

Don't worry if you've never ceilidh'd before, we'll walk you through each dance first and there's always someone more experienced who'll help with a gentle shove in the right direction if you get lost.

In the ceilidh scene, it's perfectly acceptable to arrive on your own as you're never without a dance partner for long.
This site is also a way to get to know names and faces before you come so that you recognise folks even on your first visit.

Advance tickets. From previous experience we know that a LOT of people turn up to these events so we've set up the Meetup Group partly as a way for Ranters to buy advance tickets so they can guarantee a place. Advance ticket price is £6

Some tickets will be sold on the door, will also cost £6 and the event is suitable for anyone age 15+. (Under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

There will be a bar selling ale, soft drinks etc. and possibly even tea and coffee for those of you who feel the need!

The venue has literally just become available. It used to be a church, but the pews have been removed to create a beautiful open space. Some of these are being made into booths, some have become the bar and coffee area and others have moved round to create seating around a helpfully large dance floor. There is still work ongoing, so we should see more brilliant developments as the months pass by.

Can't wait to see you there! biggrin
