Welcome! South Sound Vegans is a vegan-conscious and happy meetup group started by Mitch Glover in February 2009 because there were no vegan groups in the South Puget Sound area. Mitch knew that most folks in this area (Pierce, Kitsap, Thurston, Mason, and South King Counties) were ready for a local group and also didn't want to drive up to Seattle for vegan events.

Our members are vegans and vegan-curious and non-vegan spouses, family members, partners, and friends are welcomed guests. We create all types of vegan-friendly events. Our mission is to get together with like-minded and vegan supportive people who want to enjoy themselves and learn in the process.

The SSV meetups have included everything from potlucks on the Sound on Mitch's boat, to cooking classes, VegFest, holiday tamale making, Vegan Book Club, hiking, exploring area restaurants, fun(d)raising and animal rights events, to just going out and meeting other like- minded healthy, compassionate people. 

I hope that you will drop by a cafe meetup, attend a potluck, or join us for some other event, maybe even organize a meetup.  Thank you and I hope to meet you soon.
