Drama Therapy Workshops and Groups
**No previous theatre experience necessary. Shy people encouraged to join**
Drama therapy combines theater and psychotherapy to help people move out of rigid roles, express emotions, and discover more satisfying ways of relating to loved ones. At our monthly drama therapy workshops, we'll use improvisational theater to explore topics such as:
Drama therapy techniques will include Developmental Transformations, role-play, psychodrama, and ritual. Our group work will incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, group discussions, attachment theory, and mindfulness meditation.
About the Facilitator: Jessica Engle, MFT has helped hundreds of single men, socially anxious adults, and couples build satisfying relationships and happier lives. She is a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she received an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Drama Therapy. Jessica completed a practicum at Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, CA, where she provided drama and talk therapy to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. She went on to complete her internship at the Living Arts Counseling Center in Emeryville, CA, where she developed her specialties in social, dating, and relationship difficulties. Jessica looks forward to helping you gain greater social ease and relationship satisfaction.
