Internet Of Things Meetup Portland - Join Us!

Okay, the awesome Dawn Foster from Puppet Labs sprang us an option for a venue at the awesome Puppet Labs HQ in the Pearl above the Daily Cafe.

Speakers we have confirmed ( and will re-confirm for the date change) are:

( 10-12 Minutes Each )

Michael DiStefano - Creator of the succesful Kickstarter project Teadrop, talking frankly about his project and what he learned about delivering a product from kickstarter -
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/distefam/teadrop-the-perfect-cup-of-tea-every-time/

Ben Corrado and Justin Rigling from Rigado in Salem - Two brilliant engineers ( MIT and St Louis University) who have started a company doing some amazing work for local and national companies. As they succintly put it - "Electrical, Software and Mechanical Design Services - Turning Product Ideas Into Reality". They will talk about what you need to think about and what the process is for turning an IOT idea into something shippable.

Patty Baker and David Schroeder - RelianceCM, a contract manufacturing lab located in Corvallis will do a talk about the benefits of manufacturing locally and the pitfalls they see when someone goes from a prototype to production, etc.

Frank D'Andrea - VP Software Development - Tater Tot Designs - Will be talking about Tater Tot Designs' IoT smart appliance platform and the three applications that have derived from it for home appliances and telematics.

Scott Garman - Minnowboard.org - A new ultra powerful fully Open hardware platform ( at a bigger size) for the open hardware community. Demonstrations and information.

Alan Campbell - NW Vineyards - Talking about his creating an "Internet of Vines" through measuring environmental data for wine growers and using off the shelf sensor networks.

I'll add one more design oriented speaker if there is one otherwise I would say we are full! :-)

Please do feel free to pitch job openings, founders sought and other events - just make sure you make your request with me before the event. Thanks.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
