A group for anyone interested in Language Exchange. I started this group to meet good language exchange partners in Tokyo. Looking forward to meeting you.

If you have a facebook account, please join our fb group!

The venue of the meetups is Co-Edo, a coworking space in Kayabacho, Tokyo.

How to get to Coworking Space Kayabacho, Co-Edo

From Kayaba-cho Station (Hibiya-line and Tozai-line)

  • From the Exit #3:
Walk straight to the direction of Starbucks. Walk pass Starbucks, and go over the short bridge. Walk pass Cafe Veloce, and it is the next building. The building is named "PA building (PAビル)", and we are on 5F.
The front door will be locked (auto-lock), so please ring 03-5542-0470, and we will open it for you. Just say you came for Meetup (in English is fine).
  • From the Exit #4 or #5:
Go across the road to Starbucks, and it is same as above from there.

For members

Thank you very much for joining the Tokyo Language Exchange Group at Co-Edo!
Co-Edo is a co-working space which is located in Kayabacho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Some English events and morning meetings in English have been held there.

We created this group in order to conduct language exchange sessions effectively.
At normal language exchanges, you may feel anxiety about:

  • having a good partner
  • being able to learn the language effectively without professional language teachers

So we came up with an idea - doing language exchange in a group. All of the learners gather at the same place and do sessions with different kinds of people. You will be able to:

  • Do language exchange with many different people
  • Share the best practices of language exchange to learn more effectively
  • Learn various natural expressions and appropriate language

We hold the language exchange sessions at a co-working space so that you can do the language exchange comfortably. Its manager (organizer of this group) will ask people who are not going to join us for a learning purpose to leave the space.

Finally, we accept your opinions to improve the sessions, so feel free to give us your comments!

The format of our language exchange sessions is planned to be like this (using English and Japanese language exchange as an example):

  1. Your partner will be automatically selected
  2. English timed speaking with your partner, plus learning time
  3. Japanese timed speaking with your partner, plus learning time
  4. Start again with a different partner

That's it. Let's enjoy language exchange together!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
