6:45PM - 7:00PM Oracle Golden Gate – Data Integration Hidden Gem
By Djordje (George) Jankovic
Oracle GoldenGate is Oracle’s strategic solution for real time data integration. It enables non-invasive operational reporting and other types of query offloading by maintaining a real-time replica that can be on a different database platform and less expensive hardware. In combination with Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle GoldenGate makes real time business intelligence possible, allowing companies to combine insight about the current state with historical context. This short presentation will introduce you to Golden Gate. It will answer the questions: “How does Golden Gate fit in Oracle’s Data Integration strategic direction?” “What does it bring you?” and “How easy is it to implement?”.

About Djordje: Djordje Jankovic has been dealing with Oracle technology in different capacities for more than 20 years. Currently he is leading the Data warehouse and Business Intelligence team in Blackberry. Last few years Djordje has been using Oracle Golden Gate in different architectures: real-time data warehouse, multi-master replication, reporting database synchronization, database upgrade, ... Djordje has given numerous presentations at leading Oracle conferences including Oracle Open World and Collaborate.

7:00PM - 7:15PM APEX - What's all the fuss about?
By Patrick Cimolini
Oracle Application Express (APEX) has gained a tremendous amount of traction in the Oracle development space in its eight years of life. Still, many Oracle professionals do not know much about this incredibly productive and efficient development tool that builds scalable web applications on top of the Oracle database. This fifteen minute overview will introduce you to APEX. It answers the questions: "what is it?", "how is it used?", "is it here to stay?", and "where is it going?".

About Patrick: Patrick Cimolini has been working exclusively with Oracle Application Express (APEX) for the last eight years. During that time he has worked as an APEX development contractor, APEX trainer, and a Project Manager who specializes in APEX projects. Patrick is a regular presenter on APEX topics at the Kscope, Collaborate, and Oracle Open World conferences. He is a coauthor of "Beginning Oracle Application Express" (Apress) and the lead author of "Agile Oracle Application Express" (Apress).
