Workshop on Intelligent Techniques for Web Personalization and
Recommendation Jul 22, 2012 - Jul 23, 2012
Web Personalization tailors the Web experience to a particular
user or set of users. The experience can be something as casual
as browsing a Web site or as significant as trading stocks or
purchasing a car. The actions can range from simply making the
presentation more pleasing to anticipating the needs of a user
and providing customized and relevant information. To achieve
effective personalization, organizations must rely on all
available data, including the usage and click-stream data,
content and structure, domain knowledge, as well as user
        demographics and profiles.

The World Wide Web has become part of our everyday life, and
information retrieval and data mining on the Web are now of
enormous practical interest. The algorithms supporting these

Workshop on Social Computing, Network, and Services in Vancouver June 26
Recently, social computing and networking has been driving
dramatic evolution in the way people communicate and interact
with each other, attracting great attention from the research
community as well as the business world. Social computing not
only includes Web 2.0 elements such as blogs, twitter, and
wikis, etc, but also stands for a collection of the technologies
that gather, process, compute, and visualize social information
and the studies that model and analyze dynamics of participants
        in social networks.

2012 is shaping up to be a good year for the Web!
