One of my favorite rides is to take the Waterfront Trail out to Oshawa. Most of it is on dedicated bike trails next to the lake, or on quiet residential streets, with some great scenic portions, especially around Ajax and Rouge Hill.

The plan is to ride out to Oshawa from Kennedy subway station (we'll also ge going thru the Eglinton GO station parking lot if you want to meet us there), and ride out as far as the Oshawa GO station (about 65 km), then taking the GO train back into the city.

We'll start this ride from the Kennedy Subway Station, the south parking lot, at 10:30 AM. From there we ride a short way along Eglinton to the SOUTH parking lot of the Eglinton GO station (picking up anyone who wants to, say, drive there), and then get on the Waterfront Trail for the ride out to Oshawa.

The ride will mostly be on trails and quiet streets, there will be two short sections on a medium busy road. The ride can easily be done an a road bike.

Once we get to Oshawa we can take the GO train from there back to the city (the trip is less than an hour back to Eglinton Station, it's about $8), or people can backtrack if we feel like it. We'll be passing GO stations the entire way out if people feel like dropping out. We can have lunch in Pickering, which will be about half-way there.

Feel free to email me about the ride if you have any questions. I'll be checking the weather and I'll send out an advisory in the days beforehand if it looks like the weather might be bad.

My cell is 416-824-7019.

This is a great ride so please try it out!
