This Friday July 1st, we're going to be celebrating two things. First of all, it's Canada's (something) birthday. But also, it's the 40th anniversary of Ontario Place. Come out and see the park, enjoy festivities and a blast of fireworks, all for free! This event is great if you're new to Canada or Ontario Place. You'll enjoy what this event has to offer.
Cultural, leisure and entertainment parkland extending throughout three man-made islands along the Lake Ontario waterfront.
There's a bunch of things to do, including:
-Exploring Ontario Place (NOTE: Although general admission is free, you'll have to pay for the rides)
-International CHIN Picnic (at the CNE, which is next to Ontario Place)
-Annual fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.
Bring a blanket, sit back and relax and enjoy the fireworks at the end.
Like the last event, feel free to wander off an on with the TAIR group. But be sure to join us for the fireworks.
Where to Meet and how to get to Ontario Place:
By TTC : The best way to get to Ontario Place is to take the streetcars that go to Exhibition Place. So you can either take the 509 Harbourfront from Union station, or 511 Bathurst from Bathurst station. Get off at the last stop, and walk across the bridge to Ontario Place.
By car : Get off at Jameson Avenue on the Gardiner Expressway and follow the signs towards Exhibition Place. There's very few places for free parking, but there's some paid parking.
Where we'll meet:
We'll meet at the ticket gates of Ontario Place at 6:00 p.m. After 15 minutes, we'll be heading inside Ontario Place.
NOTE: If you get lost or need directions, you can call me directly on my cell phone at 647-995-9218.
PRICING AND COSTS
Ontario Place is free! A small donation of $2 would be appreciated to pay for Meetup costs for this group, but not necessary.
