The Monster Cookie is the signature event ride hosted by the Salem Bicycle Club, and is the traditional start of the regional bicycle season. The ride is a 60 mile "barely metric century". However, riders can turn back at the first/third rest stop and complete a 34-mi "half a Cookie". (you still earn the finish line cookie, though!) This is a road ride, almost entirely flat.

The Salem Bicycle Club runs this event, and we are their guests, supporting a common cause of health through cycling. Riders are responsible for their own registration to this event. Use this meetup page to coordinate with ride partners.

Half-Cookie (34mi) riders - If you'd like familiar company, TDC Group riders can coordinate a group sendoff on this meetup. Wear your Tour de Cure gear, and promote our July ride! Suggest gathering at the Capitol Steps (Court St, across from the registration tables) about 8:15am (full 60-milers). A second group will likely get together about 8:30-8:45. This is rain or shine, so if the weather is not cooperative, don't get soaked just to wait for folks - follow the masses. Start may be delayed, depending on how crowded the registration lines are.

UPDATE (2/28) - REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN ON THE SALEM BIKE CLUB WEBSITE.

More information, including maps and online registration is on the Salem Bicycle club website: http://www.salembicycleclub.org/content.plx?page=majrides )
