Cooking real, whole food is a lost art in our society. This is a group of people who meet up to teach and learn from one another various traditional food preparation techniques, including preserving the harvest, baking, fermenting, sprouting, and much more!

Join us if you are enthusiastic about learning and teaching about wholesome food, whether you are a novice cook wanting to shift away from processed foods or a gourmet natural foods chef. Our bent is toward Traditional Nutrition but all viewpoints are welcome!

This is a meetup that allows all members to create and host meetups. If you have an idea that you can teach, or are willing to host for someone else to teach, or just have an idea about something you would like to learn, "Suggest a Meetup" and get the ball rolling. Its called a "community" kitchen because it is a team effort to create many events, small or large, for regaining time-honored food preparations, sharing skills, or having company to make a bulk amount of food in a fun setting. It can be anything from inviting two people over to make 20 quarts of tomato sauce to split, to renting a public space and teaching a workshop and charge admission to cover costs, and anything in between. Jump in, suggest an event, or offer to help find a location, give feedback, participate, become a part of this community.

We started in Queens but changed the name from Queens Community Kitchen to Traditional Community Kitchen to be more inclusive.
