Emergency Preparedness and Food Storage Session
Details
At this event, we will talk about emergency preparedness. What basics should you have on hand to increase your ability to deal with the unexpected? We'll cover essentials including food storage (what to store and how to store it). With all of the natural disasters going on, and rising food and fuel prices, every family should have a plan and some supplies stocked away, whether it's a simple bug out bag and two weeks worth of food or provisions for an extended period of time.
We'll go over some information and distribute hand-outs. Then we'll have a presentation by a company called Shelf Reliance, They sell vacuum packed foods (25 year shelf life) and food storage shelving. They'll show us their product line and cook us some samples of their foods so you can get an idea what kinds of long-term food storage options are out there.
Here's their website:
This is an educational afternoon. However, if you are motivated to start putting away reserves, you will be able to so at the event. Shelf Reliance has a program called "Thive Q" in which they will automatically ship you a box of supplies from your "Q" each month (kind of like Netflix). We'll be getting a group discount for the event.
Hope you can make it! We'll be serving light refreshments and we'll have the Shelf Reliance samples to share.
