We are excited to bring you an in-depth look at some of the possibilities and challenges facing non-fiction storytellers. This event will provide insights into cross-platform and immersive projects in a completely different way from many of the fiction projects StoryCode has presented.

Presenting is POV's Adnaan Wasey -- the mind behind the POV Hackathon and other initiatives aiming to re-invent documentary for the web. The director of POV Digital, the Webby Award-winning interactive department of the acclaimed PBS documentary series POV, Adnaan is also the owner of the software company Science Bistro (http://adnaan.com (http://adnaan.com/)).

At 25, POV is the premiere and longest-running showcase for for independent non-fiction films in the US. POV premieres 14-16 of the best, boldest and most innovative programs every year on PBS. Since 1988, POV has presented over 300 films to public television audiences across the country. POV films are known for their intimacy, their unforgettable storytelling and their timeliness, putting a human face on contemporary social issues.

POV films have won every major film and broadcasting award including 32 Emmys, 15 George Foster Peabody Awards, 11 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Broadcast Journalism Awards, three Academy Awards and the Prix Italia.

"So much of what we see is watered-down and easily digestible, designed to appeal to the largest common denominator and not cause offense. Against this pallid landscape of cream-puffery, POV stands out as something quite bright and unusual." — USA Today
