Just four days into launching this immersive NYC experience, director James Carter brings a hot-off-the-presses look at his innovative location-based project NY_Hearts.
Members who are working with or experimenting with telling location-based storytelling, this will be a treat. This latest part of James project is the 2nd installment in a 4 part series, and follows a successful stint on the Lower East Side in the winter.
Part walking tour, part love story, NY_Hearts offers people a new way to discover NYC by stepping into the characters’ shoes. Set in four different NYC neighborhoods, participants enjoy drinks and other surprises from local businesses, which are integrated into an audio story shared over mobile devices
Supporting story extensions of the audio story include: character websites, online character vlogs, original music and visual art. The second part of the tale launches on April 19 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Visit www.ny-hearts if you'd like to experience it before the forum!

Joining us from Los Angeles is creator Jon Vidar who will be presenting StoriesFrom (www.storiesfrom.us (http://www.storiesfrom.us/)), an immersive platform for collaborative storytelling. Based off the original 360 Kurdistan (360.tizianoproject.org (http://360.tizianoproject.org/)) launched in Iraq in 2010, StoriesFrom allows community members and organizations to easily create rich interactives that combine both professional and locally produced content. The original 360 Kurdistan received recognitions from SXSW, The Webbys, the Gracies, and beat out CNN and NPR for the Community Collaboration in the Online Journalism Awards. StoriesFrom was built through a Knight News Challenge grant from the Knight Foundation, cosponsored by Google.
