Lance Weiler's PANDEMIC and James Carter's FEEDER

We are really excited about April's Meetup. Sorry it was announced so late but we have been busy trying to sort through a few things. And...we have very exciting news! First we have a new location. JWT will be hosting the April Meetup. Please arrive on time or even a few minutes early. You will need to present your ID at security and you will need to have RSVP'ed to gain admittance. So please RSVP and bring and ID.

We have two great presentations as well.

James Carter will present Feeder: A Love Story. It follows the relationship of Jesse and Noel. Like thousands of other couples, they met online, fell in love, and got married. When Noel and Jesse delve into the fringe lifestyle of feederism they open themselves up to an extraordinary world of passion, love and food. But what happens when one partner outgrows the other?

It was presented as a transmedia theatrical event, incorporating live video from a web camera and computer on stage, and internet video blogging that engaged the audience online before and after the play. In a unique departure from traditional theatre storytelling, this production parallels social networking and personal interaction, sharing a very human story.

Next Lance Weiler and Mark Harris will present PANDEMIC. Pandemic is a storyworld experience designed by Lance Weiler which spans film, mobile, online, social gaming and data visualization. Participants online worked with those on the ground at the Sundance Film Festival to stop the spread of a strange sleep virus. Used as a Story R&D effort to create a rich storyworld, Pandemic is a transmedia extension of a larger film property, entitled HiM. Weiler will be joined by Mark Harris, a creative technologist who helped to build a storytelling engine used within the data visualization portion of the project.
