Details
It's time for another round of apps and data visualizations about Capital Bikeshare! (You can see what happened at CaBi Hack Night I here (http://mobilitylab.org/2013/12/11/capital-bikeshare-hackers-pedal-their-wares-at-mobility-lab/).)
Join us for food & drinks at 6:00, thanks to our super-awesome sponsor ShopHouse Kitchen (http://shophousekitchen.com/). Speakers begin at 6:30. Our speakers are:
• Michael Alvino (https://twitter.com/MichaelAlvino) from the National Park Service will discuss biking on the National Mall
• Charley Dingboom will show us an analysis of CaBi usage since the system opening in September 2010 utilizing open data and ArcGIS mapping.
• Justin Grimes (http://justgrimes.com/) will look at the "bike in bloom," the pink CaBi bike seen during the cherry blossom season.
• Mathias Hansen (https://twitter.com/MathiasHansen) will show us how he visualizes an individual's trip histories with his Trip statistics (https://bikeshare.dotsqua.re/demo/) app.
• Yinyue Hu from George Mason University will show her analysis of CaBi data using community detection methods, exploring the community structure of CaBi ridership.
• Dwight Martino will show us cabistations.com (http://cabistations.com/), CaBi's official "suggest a station" crowdsourcing map.
• Michael Schade (https://twitter.com/mvs202) will show us two new tools (http://mvjantzen.com/cabi/tools/meetup.html) for looking at CaBi data.
• Andrew Zalewski of Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning (http://foursquareitp.com/) will share visualizations created for CaBi's Transit Development Plan.
