How do computer programmers get involved in urban planning? Let's look at cool tools coders have built that revolve around transportation and urban planning. We'll meet on the 12th floor of WeWork's Crystal City location (https://www.wework.com/locations/washington-d-c/crystal-city). Doors open at 6:00 with pizza courtesy of our sponsor the Eno Center for Transportation (https://www.enotrans.org/). Presentations start at 6:30. Our speakers are:

• Jason Wright will demo Brand New Subway (http://brandnewsubway.com/) and dive into how the game operates, and discuss future improvements.

• Michael Eichler will demo the SWARM tool (http://planitmetro.com/2016/08/11/introducing-s-w-a-r-m-another-tool-for-your-tod-toolkit-2/), built by the Metro Office of Planning (http://planitmetro.com/) to forecast ridership from new transit-oriented development near rail stations.

• Matt Conway will demo Conveyal (http://conveyal.com/)'s Scenario Editor tool, which allows planners to prototype changes to the transit system and see their effects in near-real-time.

• Stephanie Dock will discuss DDOT’s new District Mobility webtool, which will help to monitor system performance from a mobility perspective.

• Drew Morrison will share his "map.it" (Metropolitan Area Planning Integration Technology) project, winner of the 2016 Hays Out of the Box (http://outsidethebox.gmu.edu/) competition.

• Peter Viechnicki, from Deloitte’s Center for Government Insights (http://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/public-sector/solutions/center-for-government-insights.html), will show how the ‘Smart Mobility’ map (http://dupress.deloitte.com/dup-us-en/multimedia/interactives/smart-mobility-trends-map.html) can forecast congestion reductions and economic benefits.

• Uli Strötz will show how Door2Door (https://www.door2door.io/) does "Public Transport Infrastructure as a Service" with tools such as TrackYourCity (https://www.trackyourcity.org/).

Thanks to everyone at Mobility Lab (http://mobilitylab.org/) for their sponsorship and making this possible.
