Critically important information regarding SD and State Convention Delegate strength

Dear Constitutional Republicans, If 2010 temporary rules regarding Precinct Caucusing for State Delegate nominations remains, the newly uploaded file (More->Files on Meetup menu) "Pct and State Delegate Strength at 2012 Travis County Convention", will show your Precinct Delegate strength at both the SD Convention and State Convention. Two notes here: 1. Most of the experienced grassroots activists understand and are supporting the call for a vote for Precinct Conventions prior to the April 21st Convention.  That Precinct Convention can be held as early as April 3rd (which I don't recommend) or as late as April 20th, or even the morning of April 21st.  According to many interpretations of the new SREC rules on Feb 29th, IF the County Executive Committee votes FOR a local precinct convention (RPT Rule 19a), delegates for the April 21st SD Convention will be selected at the Precinct Convention, and the Convention will NOT be "open" to everyone who merely arrives and signs an Oath of Affiliation.  Tarrant County was the first to vote for Precinct Conventions, and they will be held April 3rd. 2. There are TWO WAYS to select State Delegates at the SD Convention:  at-large (irrespective of precinct) by a temporary nominations committee (all committee members are appointed by the SD temporary chair), which will meet April 16th and 17th, OR by Precinct Caucuses on April 21st.  Precincts who have more that 300 votes for Rick Perry in the last election could be entitled to caucus for the purpose of nominating their own state delegates from their own precinct. NOTE that the "default" rule is for all delegates to be elected at-large --- in order to have Precinct Caucuses, a supplemental rule must be adopted which provides for those Precinct Caucuses. ACTION:   If you are a Precinct Chair, you MUST attend the March 27th meeting to have a vote on these important issues. If you are NOT a Precinct Chair, you SHOULD attend the March 27th meeting in order to sign the "Oath of Affiliation", which entitles you to attend the GOP Convention(s), and to observe these important proceedings.
