Nick Jr. is proud to partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in promoting their Trike-A-Thon program, which is a fun, week-long trike safety curriculum and fund-raising program that benefits St. Jude.
Dora, the star of Nick Jr.'s animated television series Dora the Explorer, is the spokesperson for this year's Trike-A-Thon program. With Dora's support for kids staying active and learning skills to overcome obstacles, she is a natural advocate for the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program.
The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program is a great way to teach kids bike and riding-toy safety through connected learning at their schools using interactive activities and by actually practicing bike safety at this event.
Nick Jr. believes, as St. Jude does, that instilling important safety habits at an early age is critical in helping to avoid biking accidents.
Parents help their children gain sponsorship from friends, family, co-workers, fellow church members, or whomever. Usually, sponsors either donate a fixed-dollar amount per lap or make a flat-rate donation for the child to participate. Once the Trike-A-Thon is over, parents help collect donations from their sponsors or those that pledged and turn them into the event organizer. Children who participate in the program learn bike and riding-toy safety, help St. Jude, earn fun prizes and receive valuable additional lessons at an early age on how everyone can pitch in to take care of those in need and participate in a wonderful cause.
What makes this specific event historical is that this is the first time a Trike-A-Thon has been conducted at this magnitude! Families and friends throughout Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties are invited to participate in making this a hugely successful benefit.
We encourage you to copy and paste this posting on all of your meetup.com groups where it is not already posted. Tell your friends, family members, neighbors and everyone you know about this incredible opportunity for so many people to get involved in such a tremendous benefit event.
Trike-A-Thon is a fun, week-long safety curriculum and fundraising program that supports St. Jude. The program is a great way for daycare centers, preschools and other organizations to teach children valuable riding-toy safety lessons, which they learn through educational materials provided by St. Jude. At the end of the week, children bring their riding toys to this event to celebrate the lessons they have learned and their fundraising success for St. Jude.
