Donizetti: Lucia di Lammermoor

It contains the best known mad scene in all of opera, a duet between flute and coloratura soprano.

The cast: legendary coloratura soprano, Australian Joan Sutherland as Lucia. Spanish tenor, Alfredo Kraus, loved by audiences worldwide for his elegant, aristocratic style, as Edgardo. Pablo Elvira, baritone, as Enrico and Met stalwart, basso Paul Plishka as Raimondo.

Richard Bonynge conducts the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Chorus and Ballet in this 1983 production.
