2013 CANCER SUCKS RIDE IBA SS1000 RIDE
Hosted by Tri-State Two Wheelers
Details
Fighting cancer takes an extraordinary effort by researchers, doctors, and patients. Great strides are being made every day to treat and find a cure but every aspect of this fight is very costly. That is why your help is needed; besides this is your chance to go on an epic motorcycle journey you will be telling your grand kids about!
We aim to raise $10,000 for cancer research and we would like to ask that you join in the fight by joining a group of courageous bikers who will attempt the extraordinary feat of completing a SaddleSore 1000. To qualify for the SaddleSore 1000 each motorcyclist must ride at least one thousand miles in less than 24 hours. If each participant commits to raise only $500 we can easily crush our goal.
Beginning on Friday June 14 we will relay our way through some of the most beautiful motorcycle roads in the eastern US. The Cancer Sucks Ride will begin in Lancaster, Oh. @ 10:00 pm on June 14th. We will head south arriving at the world famous Tail of the Dragon at the Tennessee/North Carolina border at sunrise. After riding the Tail of the Dragon (an eleven mile stretch of Highway 129 with 311 curves) we will be stopping for breakfast provided by the The Iron Horse Lodge in Robbinsville, NC. Following our meal we will then head east for a tour of Kendall Johnson Customs in Winston-Salem, NC before returning to Lancaster, Oh. You will have the opportunity to join the ride in one of these three locations:
◾Dogwood Crossing Lancaster, Oh. June 14, 2013 @ 10:00 pm
◾Iron Horse Lodge Robbinsville, NC. June 15, 2013 @ 8:00 am
◾Kendall Johnson Customs Winston-Salem, NC. June 15, 2013 @ 1:00 pm
Riders leaving from Lancaster, Ohio should arrive home at approximately 9:00 pm on June 15 (23 hours after they begin). Riders who join us at the Iron Horse or at Kendall Johnson’s on June 15th will ride back to Lancaster then complete the loop back to their starting point arriving home on June 16th.
