Regardless of political leanings, it seems that "Moral Mondays" in downtown near the Legislative bldg. are starting to generate some interest. Any Bitcoiners want to check out the area, hand out materials/ educate folks, or start a Satoshi Square?

It's in downtown Raleigh on Mondays. Here's a writeup of yesterday: http://usnews.nbcnews... . I predict that things will calm down in future weeks yet continue to draw regular attendance. It might not be a bad opportunity to throw on a tshirt, be visible, and answer questions (as opposed to protesting). Any thoughts on this?

I've been going to these for the past 7 weeks and you probably would find some people who are interested in bitcoin there. It gets pretty loud so your best bet might be to get there on the early side to talk to people or it seems like there are always lots of people just walking around handing out flyers. And if you haven't been before I definitely recommend heading into the general assembly building and seeing the protesters getting arrested. You're safe from arrest if you stay on the third floor although last night it was even getting rowdy up there.

I won't be able to go next week but I'll be there the week after that.

In How to be Invisible, they described Westerners doing international deals without paperwork as also following Hawala. In the chapter I read today, I found out one of the large international regulating agencies banned Hawalah transactions as illegal.

Anyone know the name of the other Tom there - the system I was trying to describe to him on Saturday is called Hawalah. Hawalah has many of btc's advantages, and shoutout to @Jeremy that I found the name Hawalah while reading today's chapter of How to be Invisible.

Hope to join this meeting or the next.

ALOT if happening in the Bitcoin community in the past 30 days. Should be plenty to talk about. One big item is the patent on "bitbills" that has been filed as well as the Cease and Desist order in California.

    Cheers!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
