Open Source Hack Night

Details

For our December meet up we're going to take a break from talks and spend some time writing Elixir code!

We'll start the night by doing a quick "show and tell" which could be an Elixir project you're working on or if you want to give a short lightning talk on something you've learned recently that would be great. Come prepared if you want to share.

After that, we'll move on to working on a project together/in smaller groups. With the Elixir ecosystem still a bit young, it doesn't have quite as many open source libraries as others. So whether it be an API wrapper or a library of helper functionality, we'll start porting over an open source library from another ecosystem/language into Elixir and eventually publish it to https://hex.pm , contributing back to the Elixir ecosystem!

Of course, we probably won't completely finish anything by the end of the meet up, but we'll host the projects on the Triangle |> Elixir GitHub (https://github.com/Triangle-Elixir) page and so you can send pull requests and for updates or fixes as you have time/want to do some open source.

Come do some hands on Elixir learning and contribute to open source!
