NCSM Practice
Hosted by Triangle Inline Skate Club Meetup
Details
This is a training skate to prepare for the North Carolina Skate Marathon in June, and it is open to all skaters that are comfortable going up and down hills. We will be skating at Greensboro Country Park in Greensboro, which is a recreational park that is slightly curvy, and has a couple of challenging hills. Braking is an essential requirement for this course. To see a video of the course, visit: www.ncskatemarathon.com and click on the Course Preview page. Greensboro Country Park is a 1.6 mile loop. We will be increasing the mileage each time we train.
As with all our group skates, helmets are required. Wrist guards, elbow and knee pads are recommended. You should also bring water or a sports beverage for hydration. You can
Google search Greensboro Country Park for directions. Please note that we will meet in the parking lot off of the Orman Road entrance (entrance is at the intersection of Orman Road and Lawndale Drive). After turning onto Orman Road, you will take a left at the end of Orman Rd. to get into the park.
We'll meet at 8:45 a.m. and start skating by 9:00 a.m. It’s best to start skating before the park gets too busy with foot traffic. If you can't arrive early, please try to gear up as quickly as you can when you arrive.
In the event of questionable weather we will make a go/no-go call 90 minutes before the scheduled start so check the Meetup site after 7:30 a.m.
