Bring your own picnic foods, etc. and join us for lunch at 12 noon on the grounds of Historic Stagville, http://www.stagville.org/. We'll eat, then have a guided tour at 1:00 p.m. to learn about the history of one of NC's most unique historic sites. Once this tour is over, (about an hour), we'll head over to Horton Grove Nature Preserve http://triangleland.org/what-we-do/nature-preserves/horton-grove-nature-preserve, for a short hike. The preserve contains approximately 4 miles of trails, and we can decide once there how much hiking we want to do.

I've not had the opportunity to visit either of these sites, but hope to get out to the preserve at least once before our hike to be able and give a little guidance once there.

I'm hoping the weather will be perfect for an afternoon picnic and hike. I'll plan to arrive a little early and pick a spot for us to gather. Look for my vehicle, a green Ford Escape.
