John F Rash is an instructor of digital photography at Randolph Community College, in Asheboro, NC. Recently returning from China with a group of 11 students, John was instrumental in forming an international partnership between his nationally-known program here in North Carolina and the photojournalism school at Nanjing Normal University. John has over 10 years experience in education, publishing, design, and photography.
On June 6th, we would like to invite you to bring your camera and enjoy a casual photo walk at Sarah P. Duke Gardens, in Durham at 6pm. Our walk with be followed by dinner at the Asian Aroma restaurant.
All levels of photography enthusiasts from beginner to professional are welcome to attend. However, John suggests bringing a camera which offers manual settings for shutter speed and aperture (exposure settings). Any DSLR (camera with interchangeable lenses), offer these controls. However smaller, non-DSLR, cameras such as the Cannon G9 / G10 series also offer these options for manual exposure settings.
Join us on June 6th and enjoy the company of other creative individuals while strolling in the afternoon sun and capturing beautiful photographic images.
Meeting point: Doris Duke Garden will be closed at 6pm, so anyone who wants to grab a map or get some visitor info should arrive before 6pm. However, this is where we are going to meet.
Parking: FREE after 5pm.
Hours: Park closes at dusk, approximately around 8:30pm, which is prefect time for photo shooting so we will leave right after the sunset and head to Asian Aroma from the park.
