Serge Kahili King, the author of `Urban Shaman', defines a shaman as "a healer of relationships between mind and body, between people, between people and circumstances, between humans and Nature, and between matter and spirit. In practicing his or her healing, the shaman has a view of reality very different from the one most of the world uses, and it is this unique viewpoint ... which really sets the shaman apart from other healers." Life around and within the Beltway offers many challenges to this ancient, soulful way of life. Join us to meet other local shaman tribe brothers and sisters and to learn about and discuss shamanic techniques (drumming, journeying, sacred plants, shape changing, soul retrieval, plant and animal communication, rituals, etc.) for healing yourself and others.
Greetings!
I'm Dreamwalker from the Tribe of Beltway Shamans. I just wanted to welcome you to our fantastic community of shamans and like-minded people living in the Washington, DC Tri-State area (DC, MD, and VA).
Our circles are small (ten or less) because they are held in a one bedroom apartment right in the heart of Washington, DC (U Street Corridor part of town). Read more
