What is your favorite beer?

I tend to prefer beers that are crisp, citrusy and somewhat spicy by nature. Three of my favorite are Steenbrugge Witbier, Pumking Ale by Southern Tier and Merry Monks by Weyerbacher. Although all three vary in style, they all possess the appropriate amount of carbonation (for me) as well as just enough hops. Not over-the-top, but subtly noticeable.

What is your favorite beer hall?

The Bohemian Hall Beer Garden in Astoria. Also, Wolff's Biergarten in Albany, NY.

Which foods go best with beer?

The obvious answer to this question is cheese. And undoubtedly, it is also the best answer. However, I discovered another awesome beer-food pairing while spending time in Vietnam: beer + banh mi sandiwch. For those of you who don't know, a banh mi sandwich consists of a baguette, fried or scrambled egg, sliced pork skin, sliced onions, pickles, carrots and topped off with either nuac mam (fish sauce) or soy sauce. Truly to die for, I promise you!

I'm a fun-lovin' gal who loves a good beer whenever she can get her hands on one. I'm a firm believer in supporting small microbreweries, whose quality and customer appreciation are the kinds of services you just can't get with big conglomerations.
