UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD Community spectacular Rise & Fall Cinema & Discussion

Details

Triumphs & spectacular mistakes made by Australia's most successful intentional community, for a few short years at least! (south of Perth).

Manageable tribal human collectives, rather than big cities, are surmised to be the most resilient of communities. But this requires the highest of responsibility from both leaders & participants, else can easily fail.

By Donation, Food & Music to Share from 6:30pm to socialize & exchange knowledge, 7:30pm announcements for 8pm start. Discussion follows 9pm. Venue is opposite Upwey station on Belgrave line, see http://magpiehouse.com.au/ . http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/f/6/5/600_444096709.jpeg

Hundreds joined from a nationwide calling, quickly becoming self-sustaining with a mandate of stewardship & service that participants loved, including Australia's rock legend Matt Taylor ("I Remember When I was Young", Chain "Black & Blue" etc). The mistakes made were equally spectacular, after many years almost the entire community collapsed in just a few surprising days, devastating long-standing participants traumatized by their difficult choice to re-enter the outside world. A re-union 30 years later reveals the seeds of dis-content with emotionally charged healing that follows.

Quoting Matt Taylor: "Through the whole of the Whitlam era I lived on a tiny remote commune with no electricity & no running water - but I was happy. Those of us living in the commune didn't experience the political turmoil everyone was supposed to be feeling in the country at that time. We thought it was fantastic; we had just lived through the repressive Menzies period." From:

Here's a surprise verification from a recent screening of The Mind-Body Connection (can re-screen!) on resilient communities =

For related work on Intentional Community incentive, launching a 'Seven Generations' project, see:

(DEMOCRACY doesn't really work as it marginalizes the minority & simply disposes of them. For the Westernized mindset, we'd use 'Modified Consensus' that disarms habitual objectors from dragging projects to a halt).

'Seven Generations' is based on a very simple idea of planning for the next seven generations, instead of merely for the next election, that could only be termed 'primitive' & ultimately suicidal on a mass scale. 'Seven Generations' borrows from indigenous cultures that have prospered for far longer than current mainstream society. In mainstream society, a significant portion of the population is severely disabled by modern wireless communications, these people could be termed 'canaries in the coal mine' & we are grateful for their feedback. But far more significantly, DNA seems to be affected & so is damaging the future generations &, by default, is not acceptable for this project.
