I like the concept of farming produce as well as harvesting fish. It seems like the most logical way to garden especially in an arid climate like ours. I am interested to learn more details of what is working for people in southern Arizona and what has not been successful. I'm on a budget and would rather not purchase knowledge by trial and error if there are people willing to teach me.
I am pretty handy and have construction background ranging from finish carpentry to finishing concrete. Also did a year building and designing water harvesting systems.
Looking for a community that is willing to teach a knucklehead the ropes of aquaponics. If it is something I can run with, I would return the favor to others.
I have been gardening for several years with only marginal success and would like to try something new and different. I am a husband, a dad of two, a firefighter, and recently a paramedic. I do construction on the side and sometimes garden.
