I have little experience with ASL, but I hope to learn more one-on-one. I wish I could sign up for a sign language course at the college I attend (PCC) but my current work schedule and family schedule would unfortunately not permit it and I would do better with one-on-one experience and teaching. It would also give me a chance to practice what I learn, as I learn it, whereas a classroom setting would not.
My cousin Simon. He is turning 2 in May, and he has a lot of health problems. He was born with half a heart, has underwent 4 open heart surgeries and a heart attack before his first birthday. He also has cerebral palsy, so by teaching him sign language we help to develop his fine motor skills as well as create a way for him to communicate with us since we do not know how far his vocal vocabulary will extend and how fast. I wish to help in this process, since he means the world to me and he is my inspiration everyday.
Hi, I'm Ash-Lee. I'm 19 and I just moved here in June. I'm hoping by joining this group I can learn ASL, because my baby cousin is currently being taught ASL and I wish to help in that process. I know a few things, but I'd love to learn more.
