I want to pass along some important information regarding our group. With my subscription having been due this past week, one of our members has stepped up and paid them for 6 months. We are good through to April 2011. This member wishes to remain anonymous and as Founder of TCFF, I will remain this group's Organizer.
There is a new feature on the group's Home Page, at the left hand side you will see the heading "Membership Donation". Please note at this time I am not requiring a fee for membership, it is a voluntary option.
TC Fishing Fanatics gives you an option to donate if you find value in the group. I believe that this group has made a difference in many of our lives the past year, including mine! I started this group because I didn't have friends here in the city who wanted to go fishing. My family has a lake home in Wisconsin I can go to and fish on the weekends, but I find myself in the city a lot and wanted to find new fishing buddies. I continue to Organize this group because there are people who, like me just need this outlet in their lives and know that they don't have to do it by themselves. And also to introduce "newbies" to fishing and all of us to help and learn from each other as we enjoy the activity. There are a lot of Meetup groups that charge fees and dues, and I don't want to demand it but rather I am giving you all the option. If you would like to contribute to the upkeep of the group, you may use the online payment option or you can hand me a donation next time you see me. No donation over $10.00 will be accepted. All monies will go into the account for group expenses and future incidentals.
These Meetup groups are like a business with expenses. Yes, I do have to pay Meetup.com each month to host the site, and there are other incidentals like picnic supplies, bait to share, and I do pay extra on many occasions for rental taxes, etc. There is also the time factor in all of this, do not think I don't love doing it because I do, but none the less it is still time consuming to keep this site active. That said, I am looking forward to many more fishing, dining and picnic outings in the future with you all. Thanks for making it so rewarding and worthwhile and I will be seeing you on this ice this winter!
