Abstract: Deploying enterprise grade security for Hadoop or six security problems with Apache Hive. In this talk we will discuss the security problems with Hive and then secure Hive with Apache Sentry. Additional topics will include Hadoop security, Role Based Access Control (RBAC), and how to report a security flaw in an open source project.
Speaker: Brock Noland is co-chair of the TCHUG, committer to many open source projects such as Apache Hive, Sentry (incubating), Flume, MRUnit, and Crunch in addition to Parquet. He has been working with Hadoop as a user, consultant, instructor, and engineer for 4 years.
Parking: There are two options to pay for parking in the adjacent Anderson ramp. You can either enter/exit with a credit card, or you can take a ticket and use the pay kiosk on the northeast corner of the ramp to get an exit ticket.
