Poetry Workshop #25 (*in Minneapolis this time)

Hey everyone,

Know we just met last week, but since next Thursday is the MIA event we're going to have another workshop this week. Awesome right?

Secondly, we're going to a new venue this week. It's the Dunn Bros at Bryant and Lake. There is a parking lot and seating should be alright. I'm going to scope it out a little more tonight and make sure this is viable for us, but I think we should give it a try anyways. We can't be getting kicked out at 8 every workshop like last week.

If you want a poem workshopped please bring 5 copies so you can receive notes and more involved feedback. If you don't want to share this time around, that's perfectly okay. We're always happy to have extra listeners, editors and poetry lovers.

That's all for now. Any questions, please let me know. Looking forward to Thursday!

This was my first time with this group and I really enjoyed it. I was impressed by the talented writers, the constructive feedback and the fun conversation. I'll be back!

A good chance I won't make it tonight as I am having computer issues at home that may take all night to resolve.

sounds like the anti-poetry night...good luck my friend in the techno "nuts and bolts" world that we so pleasantly skirt on our poetic coffee house jaunts together...you will be missed if you are compelled by the computer gods to ignore your more noble muses...

Hi Bruce, poetically put. Hopefully, the fix suggested by the company that made the computer works quickly and efficiently.

I am glad I can come tomorrow night, and hope I can continue during my last term at Metro. I also started a Meetup. I am putting the link here. Ask me about it tomorrow if you are interested. http://www.meetup.com/The-Power-of-Metaphor-in-the-Arts-Telling-Our-Stories/events/97520372/
I look forward to sharing some poetry.

I have a doctor's appointment in St. Louis Park that night, but I'll stop by to say hello since this is on my way back anyway.

That sounds great! I've got an appointment in Uptown before the workshop this week so I can't swap it this time, but for the next one we'll check out J & S for sure! Thanks Marcy!

Minneapolis is harder for me. There is a great coffee shop that stays open until 10:00 every night in St. Paul, on Randolph Ave. just a block or two east of Snelling. Maybe we can check it out? It is J&S Bean Factory, 1518 Randolph Ave. Usually enough tables. Many good coffees, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. And In good weather, their large and lovely outdoor patio is the best in town!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
